The principal's heartbeat I believe the 1st 7 years is a very crucial foundational period of a child's development. With the dual working parents model in most typical Singaporean households, most pre-school children would be enrolled in childcare centres, where there is very often a lack of male teachers to provide a positive male modelling and influence.
I hope LiCdo can meet this gap to provide quality, holistic and a niche for a balanced gender teaching environment to the children of this early age group.
Operational protocols in place to safeguard children and dispel parents' fears of a male teacher
- The physical layout is made "transparent" where each class is within view of another teacher at any one time.
- The male teacher is excused from any toileting or showering duties.
- No teacher is allowed to be left alone with the children or child without another adult nearby.
